The UC Berkeley Chicano Latino Alumni Association (CLAA), in collaboration with UC Berkeley Career Center, UC Berkeley Black Alumni Association (BAA), and ASUC Senator Nick Araujo’s office, is hosting an event to connect our students of color with employers. This event is designed to connect students of color with over 40 employers recruiting for a wide range of career opportunities in business, engineering/tech, healthcare, nonprofit, and government. Global Poverty and Practice Minor
The GPP Minor introduces students to the theoretical frameworks, methods, and practical skills necessary to engage with global poverty and inequality in effective ways. The Minor requires five courses and a “Practice Experience” in which students partner with domestic or international non-governmental or community organizations, government agencies, or other poverty or development programs, on various dimensions of poverty action – from food security and sustainable technologies to economic justice and grass-roots political power. The deadline to declare the Minor this semester is Wednesday, October 10th. There are no prerequisites required to declare.

Since 1965, Cal in the Capital is a student-led program has that prepares 75 UC Berkeley students in their search for a summer internship opportunity in Washington, D.C. Cal in the Capital interns come from all majors, backgrounds, and area of interests. To date, more than 3,900 Cal in the Capital interns have served over 1.6 million hours of service in hundreds of professional settings, including Congressional offices, think tanks, national non-profit organizations, media centers, private companies, and research institutions. Who: U.S. citizen college students, rising Juniors or Seniors at application What: Opportunities to gain practical, professional experience in a foreign affairs environment and insight into the substance and daily operations of U.S. foreign policy When: 10 weeks, full-time, in summer (two consecutive summers) Where: U.S. Department of State offices in Washington, and one overseas internship at a U.S. embassy or consulate. 8) Stu Immigrtn Rlf Clinic

Stu Immigrtn Rlf Clinic

The Student Immigration Relief Clinic is a student organization on campus who trains their members how to fill out immigration documents and attends Naturalization Clinics to help green card holders fill out N-400 forms. We will be having our first training this Friday 9/28 from 6-8pm in Barrows 170. During this training we will have lawyers come in and train our members how to fill out the N-400 form. After you’ve attended this training you will be able to participate in the first clinic of the semester which will take place October 13. You do not need to attend our info-sessions in order to join.
